If you are interested in creating a wedding website like TheKnot, Weddingwire.com or FrugalBride.com, there are many options for you.  Seriously this is an easy job with Joomla.  I’m not undermining the customization and backend work you will need to get your site up and running, but the infrastructure to create that site for you is readily available with Joomla.

For a wedding site you need wedding Events, Wedding Albums, Wedding Forum, a Bridal Community, Vendor Rating and Reviews, Wedding Shop and the list goes on.   Here are a couple of Components available in Joomla that cater to your specific needs.  I forgot to mention that most of these Components including Joomla installation is free.  All Joomla Components are installed on one instance of Joomla.

1.  Wedding Event Management

Joomla RS Events is a great Joomla component to help you with planning and notifying users of upcoming wedding bridal shows, wedding conventions, hot wedding dress sales, or even if it’s to remind brides to pick up their gown.  It has a calendar view, subscription manager, google maps, ability to add a Flickr photo album, Imeem music sharing,  allows functionality to sell tickets with paypal, when sending invites, users can import contacts from Gmail or Yahoo Mail and can hide or share events with registered or unregistered users.   Another great Wedding Event component is Joomla’s JEvents.  Not as extensive as Joomla RS Events but organizes events into categories and can repeat events and you have full control over how the events are displayed.

Making a wedding site sounds pretty fun I think if I made a website like that I would give them an option to have a dj at there wedding because that would be way cool to have a dj at your wedding it would be like a huge party.
