Real estate agents need to showcase properties in a professional, elegant and easy to navigate website.  I’ve also created many real estate type sites for other clients but Wordpress is always my first choice simply by the elegance and simplicity in the templates offered and ease of maintenance.    A template I must introduce to you to help you build a real estate website for real estate agents,  property managers or maybe for yourself – is a template called WP Pro Real Estate 2 by TemplateForest.

The WP Pro Real Estate 2 by TemplateForest is hot off the press.  I’ve used the other real estate templates by gorillathemes and studiopress but I think this template beats them all.   To list some of the features it has:

  • Google Maps Integration
  • Large Admin Options Panel
  • Unlimited Colors, easy skin creation
  • Custom Post Types for Listings
  • Custom Taxonomies for Listings
  • Advanced Listings Search
  • Unlimited Images per Listing, easy upload and management. No More copy/pasting URL ’s!
  • 8 Custom Widgets (Ajax Contact, Mortgage Calculator, Agents Other Listings Widget, Popular Posts, Latest Posts, Twitter, Flickr and 125×125 Ads)
  • Automatic Featured and Listing Sliders
  • Video Support
  • Custom Author/Agent Profiles
  • Ajax Contact Page Template
  • Full Width Page Template
  • Theme Updates Free for Life

Remember that this real estate theme is only to create sites for real estate agents to post their own properties.  It does not allow guests to post their own properties like Craigslist or Kijiji.  This template is more if you want to build a site like MLS.com where the main objective of the site is to showcase your properties that are available for rent or sale.  Side note, if you want to build a site like craigslist – check out my recommendations here)  You don’t need to think too much if you want to create a great real estate website with Wordpress.  Believe me I’ve looked and this one is the best and has the most features available.    Check out the Wp Pro Real Estate 2 demo.

Hi, You can add widgets to your sidebars. It also depends on what type of theme you have, some sidebars are along the top, or along the side. The sidebar is like a menu, so you can place your widgets there. You can manage the placement of your widgets thru – Appearance, Widgets.
Hope that helps,
