Joomla 3.0 Alpha is available for Testing

by Elaine on August 25, 2012

Joomla 3.0 beta is coming out supposedly late August early September for us to start using on our production websites.  Do not use Joomla 3.0 Alpha editions for your production website.  I’m looking forward to what kind of changes they put in with this major release.  They do mention that if you are currently using Joomla 2.5, that you should wait until Joomla 3.5 comes out to ensure all the bugs and kinks are out of the system first.   Plus Joomla 3.0 only has a 30 day support window as initial bugs and fixes will be put in place.

If you are using Joomla 2.5, there is a long term support plan until a tentative September 2013.  You can see more of the Joomla 3.0 development News on Joomla’s homepage.
