Joomla 3.0 Tutorial – How to Remove the Top Menu Bar in Joomla.  The top menu is visible because it is a menu module created in the Module Manager.  To remove it from the frontpage in your Joomla 3.0 Website you must go to your Module Manager and remove it from there.  You have the option to remove it only from the frontpage or selected pages, but in this tutorial I will show you how to Unpublish and Delete the Top Menu totally from your site.  See my screenshot below, this tutorial will show you how to remove the top menu, pointed to by the arrow below.

Steps:

1.  Go to Module Manager in Joomla 3.0

2.  Change Filter, Select Top Menu, Unpublish

To easily find the Top Menu, you can filter the results in the Module Manager.  You can filter by Site, Status, Position, Type, Access and Language. I will filter by Type, since I know the Top is a Menu item.
