Joomla 3.0 Tutorial on How to add Adsense to your Joomla website. You already signed up as a Google publisher and now you want to start making money by displaying Google Ads on your website. Displaying Google Ads is a great way to make money on your website. You can easily do that by adding Google Adsense to module positions on your website. I’m using Beez3 Template so I will show you how to add Google Adsense to Beez3 template. If you are not familiar with the Beez3 module positions, you can look at the module template map here. I will be adding Google Adsense to position-7, the top left nav of my Joomla website. I’ve downloaded a free Joomla extension from the Joomla Extension Directory (JED) to help me do this called ‘Phoca Adsense Easy’.

- Paste your Google Adsense code into the ‘Adsense Code‘ text box
- Adsense Code:
- <script type=”text/javascript”><!–
google_ad_client = “ca-pub-1719145887610317”;
/* cmsmind demo Elaine */
google_ad_slot = “1526916131”;
google_ad_width = 250;
google_ad_height = 250;
//–>
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript”
src=”http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”>
</script>
- <script type=”text/javascript”><!–
- Click on ‘Save & Close’
Your Adsense will not appear on your Joomla website right away. I thought my adsense module was having problems too but it took about 10-15 minutes for it to appear. That’s why I keep the title showing so I know where the Adsense will show up. Once the Adsense is showing on my website I will hide the module title.
Hope that helps. Please leave a comment if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Hi Elaine,
Great article.
I went dow for a simpler approach. I installed the Responsive Google Ads module, inserted the google ID and configured it to use html5 style for better appeareance.
I have disabled test mode from the module and I can see the text ads (nessie included :D), but my AdSense dashboard says I need to place some code to activate it.
Do you know if there is a latency between adsense and the plugin? Or do I really need to take the joomla code approach (tried that as well)?
In Joomla, You can add adsense code on your website using built-in Joomla module, Custom HTML and don’t need any third-party extension.
