Joomla 3.1.1 Tutorial – How to Create a New Contact Category

Joomla 3.1.1 Tutorial on how to create a new contact category in the Contact Manager.  The Contacts is a component that came installed with your Joomla 3.1.1 installation.  It manages all the contacts in your Joomla website.  If your website is for a business, you can create multiple contact categories for the different departments in your company.  You can list people in your company, sort them into groups and also link them to their user id/email address.  This way you can create a contact form directly to your contacts.   Below I will show you how to create a new contact category.  I am editing an existing contact category and create a new contact category.  One will be called Finance and the other Sales.

Overview of How to Create a New Contact Group

  1. Go to Components, Contacts
  2. Go to Contact Manager Categories, Edit Existing Category
  3. Change Category Name Details
  4. Create a New Contact Category in Contacts Manager
  5. Enter New Contact Category Details in Contacts Manager

Steps:

1.  Go to Components, Contacts

You can create your business contacts or people you want your visitors to have access to in your Contacts Manager.
