The admin toolbar buttons include save, save & close, close and more. The toolbar buttons change depending on which screen you are in. If you want to remove your Admin toolbar and have more room to see your articles/modules, you can easily remove the toolbar in the . Select the Administrator settings and search for the Toolbar module. You can deactivate, unpublish and hide the Toolbar module and it will be removed from your backend administrator. 1. Go to Module Manager
3 Module Manager is where you control what is displayed on your Joomla website and in what position. Some have up to 70 module positions where you can place modules in any module position.
- Login to your Administrator Backend
- Click on ‘Extensions’, ‘Module Manager‘
2. Click on Administrator in Module Manager
Site is where you manage the modules on your site. Administrator is where you manage how you want to display information in your administrator control panel.

3. Search for Toolbar in Administrator Module Manager
The toolbar on every page of your Joomla 3.0 Administrator website is controlled by the ‘Toolbar’ module in the Administrator Module Manager. You can see below that it has a green checkmark beside it which means it is enabled and visible. If you click the green checkmark, you will disable the toolbar.
- In Module Manager: Administrator Modules
- Search for toolbar
- Click on the Green checkmark under Status, beside the Toolbar module
4. Hide Administrator Toolbar in Joomla 3
You will see a message that says: 1 Module successfully unpublished. The administrator toolbar is now removed and hidden. There will be a red x under status column beside the toolbar Administrator module.

As you can see in the red box I highlighted above, the administrator toolbar is gone. You will not see the buttons for new, edit, duplicate, publish, unpublish, checkin, trash etc. Also, when you edit your articles, you will not see the save, save & close, save & copy buttons.
