Transferred my Webhosting from Dreamhost to Tigertech

After a nightmarish experience with Dreamhost I decided to transfer my web hosting to Tigertech.  I recently completed the move and now back in business.  The transfer was easier than I thought and the Tigertech support were with me every step of the way.  They were very responsive to my questions.  Now I just have to fix up a few pictures and links and everything will be back to normal.  Sorry about delay in getting up posts.  I wanted to wait until the dust settled before creating new posts.

Thanks everyone for their patience with me.

    Hi Elaine,
I need to start my website as part of a startup and development costs led me to explore the idea of using templates for my ideas before migrating to a fully customized site when traffic, revenue and other factors support it.

I’m having a little trouble with believing your content because you recommended dreamhost as great on your other website, http://www.the-webhosting.com/ ( i do realized you haven’t updated that since Feb 18) but on this very post you are denouncing it. I’m interested in your responses as you seem to be doing ok as per your websites ad revenue and traffic but please clarify for me and some of your readership the reasons behind your recommendations and if you should really have disclaimer for them.

Please send me an email if you don’t mind as I have a question for you about how you started monetizing. You could also post your response to this here and let me know to check it.

    Thanks for your response…..

      Hi Danny,
Sure! Many of my sites are hosted on Dreamhost and I was happy for a long time. Just recently, last month in Mar and end of Feb Dreamhost started having problems. My site was down for a day for about 4 times in 1.5 months. Almost every week Dreamhost was down. I just didn’t think Dreamhost was a reliable webhosting solution for me anymore. So I switched to Tigertech. I also have other sites hosted with Tigertech and they have never been down. While I still have many sites still hosted on Dreamhost, they are not my critical sites. I want to minimize downtime for cmsmind because it affects my viewers and fustrating for me when I see a 404 page.

I recommend Tigertech to those who are “experts” and know how to navigate around unix and FTP. Tigertech does not have the usual control panel for easy installs etc. So you basically have to do everything yourself. Except for WordPress, they do have install help for WordPress. Of course if you have problems, Tigertech support is always there to help.

If you need any further clarification, let me know.
Thanks again for your comments and I appreciate the time you took to read my posts.
