WordPress 3.3 – Dynamic Admin Toolbar Options

The new version of Wordpress 3.3 Admin toolbar is great because it cuts down on the clutter and only displays links that are relevant to the page you are on.    The dynamic Admin toolbar along the top has many different views.  So far I’ve seen 6 different Wordpress 3.3 Admin toolbars specific to the page that I’m on.  Below I’ve documented and captured a screenshot of the different Administrator Toolbar along the top.

1.  Edit Post Screen:

The WordPress 3.3 Admin Toolbar has the options for:

  • Visit Site, Updates, Comments, New (Post, Media, Link, Page, User), View Post, Delete Cache

2.  Edit Page Screen:

The WordPress 3.3 Admin Toolbar has the options for:

  • Visit Site, Updates, Comments, New (Post, Media, Link, Page, User), View Page, Delete Cache

3.  Edit Link, Edit Media, Edit Comments, Appearances, Plugins, Users, Tools & Settings:

The WordPress 3.3 Admin Toolbar has the options for:

  • Visit Site, Updates, Comments, New (Post, Media, Link, Page, User), Delete Cache

4.  View Site:

The WordPress 3.3 Admin Toolbar has the options for:

  • Dashboard, Updates, Comments, New (Post, Media, Link, Page, User), Delete Cache

5.  View Post

6.  View Page

So this is a relatively long answer to Ben who left a comment on my page regarding he wasn’t able to find the “Edit” link in the Admin Toolbar.  I hope this helps you.
