WordPress Help – How to Add Adsense to your Posts with Adsense Plugins

by Elaine on October 13, 2011

There are many WordPress plugins you can use to add Adsense to your Wordpress website.  I actually use 2 different plugins to manage the Adsense on my website.  This is perfect for any Wordpress theme you are using.  I’m using the Wordpress Thesis theme and it works perfectly for my site.   It’s probably not the best way to achieve this, but I wanted to be able to control each Adsense location.

For example:  I want to have 2 different types of Adsense banners in my posts:

  • Top left corner Leaderboard 728×90 Adsense text banner and
  • Floating Middle Image 468×60 banner

  • Set the following values, replace with your own
    • Ad Network = Adsense
    • Adsense ID = 1719145887610317

    • Ad Type = Text
    • Ad Formats = 728×90
    • Colors = Left blank for default
    • Number of Ads to show per page = 1
    • Number of Ads to show per post = 1
    • Ad Positioning = Top left
  • Click on ‘Save’

  • Login to WordPress Admin Panel
  • Click on Settings, Awesome Google Adsense

    • Ad Type = Text & Image
    • Ad Placement = Center
    • Set Donation = 0%
  • Click on ‘Save’
After you install and configure both Adsense plugins, you can refresh your WordPress posts.  You might see a blank space in your posts while Google scans your site to display relevant ads.  It will probably take about 10 minutes before ads will start to display.
