WordPress – Show Pages on the Frontpage instead of Posts

by Elaine on February 2, 2011

Yes, you can laugh at me today.  I spent an hour trying to figure this out when I knew I knew the answer.  My brain wasn’t working, hey I had an excuse, it was 1 am!   So I was trying to figure out how to get a Page to show up on the frontpage instead of regular posts.  If you have a similar problem (bad brain day), here is how to get this done:

1.  Go to your Wordpress control panel.

2.  Under ‘Settings’, click on ‘Reading’

3.  Front page displays = ‘A Static Page’

4.  Select the your static Page from the dropdown list.

5.  Save and refresh your site.

It’s that simple.  Now the static page will be the first thing people see when they access your website.
