WordPress Thesis – Remove Sidebars from Pages

by Elaine on November 11, 2010

Thesis Tutorial:  This is sort of a continuation of my last post to help you customize your Wordpress Thesis theme more than it already provides. My last post was a guide on how to remove sidebars from your home page, but this post will show you how to remove the sidebars from individual pages. Pages like “About us”, “Contact us”, “Photo Gallery” or “Video Gallery” sometimes do not need sidebars. It detracts from the purpose of the page and most importantly minimizes prime realty on your page that you might want to use to display more pictures, videos or information about your company or about yourself. To do this is quite simple and does not require any code changes simply because the Thesis theme has this option available in your page options. See below on how to remove the sidebar from your pages.

1.  Log in and access your Wordpress Administrator Panel.

2.  Go to Pages, and select the page you want to remove the sidebar from.

3.  Edit the Page you want to remove the sidebar from

4.  Go to the Page Attributes, and under the Template options select “No Sidebars”.

Done! No sidebars will show up on your page anymore.   If you have questions about how to do this or need help to customize your Thesis theme, feel free to leave a comment.

Dear Enzolina,

I was wondering how do you remove the revised on text at the bottom of each of my pages. I am running thesis and I have tried all kinds of things to try and remove the revised on date on my pages. I have used a few plugins and the date is sill there. Can you help?
