Joomla 1.7 – Article Manager Batch Processing
Keeping in the same theme as my previous post, it seems that most of the content related managers have batch processing implemented. This makes it a lot easier as an administrator to move and manage content. Another New Feature is the Article Manager Batch Processing option which is located at the bottom of the Article Manager screen. There are 2 options for Article Batch Processing:
1. Set Access Levels
2. Select Category for Move/Copy
Below are screenshots of the New Feature Joomla 1.7 Article Manager Batch Processing:
1. Batch Set Access level – If you have multiple articles that you want to change their access level ie, only allow registered users to view articles. You can select multiple articles and choose “Registered”. Then click on “Process” button.
2. Batch Category for Move/Copy – Or if you want to move or copy multiple articles from one category to another there is article category batch processing. Use the checkboxes to select multiple articles to move or copy and then “Select Category for Move/Copy ” – the Category destination. Then click on ‘Proceed’.
After you successfully use batch processing for your articles you will see a confirmation message that says:
Batch process completed successfully.
Thanks,
This is a great new feature and I was waiting for this.
Your previous post with the “batch processing for the menu items” was already a feature in the joomla v1.6, but now they have copied it over to multiple components and sections of the joomla core. (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=22590)
Like these posts, jsut means i dont have to go in and check it all out for myself :p
regards
Will
Hey Will,
I must have been tired from my trip. It’s true. The Menu Manager and Category Manager had the Batch processing before. Oops. The only new one is the Article Manager Batch Processing. Will update my posts later.
Thanks for pointing that out…
