I’ve been reading other forums and I guess in previous version of Joomla it was not possible to delete Super Users.  I just upgraded my Joomla to 3.3 and now I’m able to block or delete SuperUsers.    You must login as a super user to be able to delete another Super User.

See below:

1.  Block a Super User in Joomla 3.3

• Login to your Joomla 3.3 as a Super User
• Click on ‘Users’, ‘User Manager’
• Select the Super User to Block
• Click ‘Block’

2.  Try to Log in as the Blocked Super User

If the super user tries to login to their account, they will get an error message:

“Warning: Login denied! Your account has either been blocked or you have not activated yet.”

3.  Delete a Super User in Joomla 3.3

Select the super user to delete and click on delete.  Be careful when you delete because there is no way to retrieve a deleted user.  If you want you can choose to just change the Super User group or block the user instead.  Steps below to delete a Super User:

• Login to your Joomla 3.3 as a Super User
• Click on ‘Users’, ‘User Manager’
• Select the Super User to Delete
• Click ‘Delete’

4.  Try to Log in as the Deleted Super User

If the super user tries to login to their account, they will get an error message:

“Warning: Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.”
